The WhatsApp green tick is Meta's Official Business Account badge. You apply through Meta Business Manager once your number is on the WhatsApp Business API, your business is verified, and your brand has genuine notability — meaning credible third-party news coverage. It is granted on brand notability, not on how much you spend or which provider you use.
What the green tick is and is not
The green tick marks an Official Business Account. It appears next to your business name in chats and in the contact list, and it signals to customers that Meta has verified this is genuinely your brand.
It is not a prerequisite for using the WhatsApp Business API, it does not increase your messaging limits, and no provider can guarantee it. Any vendor promising a guaranteed green tick is selling you something they do not control.
What Meta actually looks for
